7 Days Murchison Falls, Chimps & Gorilla Trekking takes you to most fascinating National Parks in the Pearl of Africa. The Trip Starts from Murchison Falls National Park will take you to the strongest waterfalls which is located in North Western part of Uganda covering areas like Masindi, Buliisa, Kiryandongo, Nwoya, Amuru, and Pakwach. It is known for its diverse wildlife and it’s also known as the powerful waterfalls in the world. With the breathtaking view of the country’s side, you will witness the Big Five mammal species like Elephants, Leopards, Lions, Buffaloes and Rhinos. Thereafter we proceed to Kibale Forest National park known for being “The Primate Capital of the World” having about 1500 Chimpanzees which gives a great opportunity for Chimpanzee trekking and Habituation, the park is located in Kabarole District. It is also a home to 120 mammal species like warthogs, bushbucks, bush pigs, antelopes, and over 300 bird species like hornbills, black billed turaco, kingfisher, weavers, cuckoos, purple breasted sunbird, and crowned eagle among other bird species.

From there connect to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located in South Western region of Uganda in Kanungu district. It is best known for Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience, The Park has almost half of the Word’s population of Mountain Gorillas with a population of about 459 individual mountain gorillas, 21 habituated gorilla families in the different sectors of the park like Nkuringo, Buhoma, Rushaga and Ruhija which gives a great opportunity for Gorilla Trekking and Gorilla Habituation.

 

Day 1: Pick Up from Entebbe International Airport or your Hotel and Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Day 1 of the 7 Days Murchison Falls, Chimps & Gorilla Trekking will start with a pickup from Entebbe International Airport or your Hotel by our driver guide who will brief you about the trip. Thereafter, you will hit the road to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino Tracking. The highlights of this park include; the roaring rapids of the Murchison, the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest national park where you will have the chance of viewing lions, giraffes, hartebeests, buffalo, and elephants. Then surely you will be fascinated by the concentration of hippos and Nile crocodiles here. For birders, Murchison Falls boasts 450 bird species including the elusive shoebill stork, dwarf king fisher, the white-thigh hornbill, and the Goliath heron among others.

 

En route, make a detour visit to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. You will have at least one hour of rhino tracking while here. Another stop will be in Masindi in order to enjoy your lunch. Continue to the park and check into your accommodation to relax for the evening. Dinner and Overnight Stay.

 

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park – Morning Game Drive and Launch Boat Trip to the Base of the falls

Have your breakfast and then depart for an early morning game drive across the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest national park. Here you will have the opportunity of viewing lions, giraffes, hartebeests, buffalo, and elephants. For any birder, this area supports the secretary bird, and black-chested snake eagle to name a few.

Return to your accommodation for lunch. After lunch, you will head out for the boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls where you will also be able to catch sight of more animals including hippos, crocodiles and several water birds. Continue with a hike (if you like) to the top of the falls. The hike may be a strenuous one but the thrill of reaching the top is breathtaking. Miss it only if you must. After the hike, you will have an evening game drive on your way to the lodge. Return to your accommodation and have a relaxed evening.

 

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park – Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park – Bigodi Wetland

Start the day 3 of 7 Days Murchison Falls, Chimps & Gorilla Trekking with a morning breakfast and then head out for a morning game drive to spot any wildlife you might have missed the previous day. Afterwards, you will drive to Kibale Forest National Park, known for its population of chimpanzees.

You will check in freshen up then later you will go for a walk in Bigodi Swamp, it is rich in biodiversity and scenic in beauty. This wonderful place shelters over 200 species of birds including Hornbills, Turacos, Parrots, Cranes, Kingfishers and many more swamp endemics. Furthermore, the sanctuary is the home of 8 species of primates, including the Black and White Colobus, Red Colobus, Red Tailed Monkey, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Olive Baboon, L’Hoest Monkey, Vervet Monkey and the Blue Monkey.

 

Day 4: Kibale Forest National Park – Chimpanzee Trekking – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up in the morning for a hot breakfast in the morning on this day, you will go on a chimpanzee tracking adventure in Kibale Forest. Accompanied by experienced guides, you will trek through the forest in search of habituated chimpanzee groups. Once you find them, you will spend a memorable hour observing and learning about these fascinating primates. Afterward, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Dinner and Overnight Stay.

 

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Start the day with a morning breakfast alongside a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, and a variety of antelope species. Afterward, you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Dinner and Overnight Stay.

Day 6: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – Mountain Gorilla Trekking

On this day 6 of 7 Days Murchison Falls, Chimps & Gorilla Trekking, you will wake up to a heavy breakfast as you get ready to embark on once-in-a-lifetime experience of mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. After a briefing by the park rangers, you will set off into the forest in small groups to track and observe one of the habituated gorilla families.

The trek can vary in duration and difficulty depending on the gorilla group’s location, but once you find them, you will spend an unforgettable hour in their presence, observing their behavior and capturing memories through photographs. This is a truly magical and humbling experience, as you witness these incredible creatures in their natural habitat. Dinner and Overnight Stay.

 

Day 7: Drive from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Entebbe International Airport for Departure or your Hotel

After breakfast, you will begin your journey back to Entebbe International Airport for your departure or your Hotel. The drive takes approximately 8-9 hours, with stopovers for lunch and scenic views along the way. Your guide will ensure that you reach the airport in time for your scheduled departure, marking the end of your 7 Days Murchison Falls, Chimps & Gorilla Trekking.
