5 Days Kenya Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha & Amboseli Safari

This 5 Days Kenya Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli safari offers superb scenery, unmatched safari activities, and diverse wildlife. Masai Mara National Reserve is considered Kenya’s best park and one of Africa’s highest-density regions for predators. The reserve covers 583 square miles (1510 square kilometers) of outstanding wilderness in southwest Kenya. The location, wildlife, activities, and comfortable moderate climate put the Masai Mara at the top of the list, even for the most discerning traveler to Kenya. Come explore Africa with us!

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve

You will be picked up by our representative, take part in a short briefing, and drive to Masai Mara. Go through Narok Town before entering the plains on your way to camp. Enjoy lunch either in the dining hall or under the shade of an indigenous tree. You will enjoy a few minutes of relaxation before you depart for an afternoon game drive in search of the Big Five. Masai Mara is named after the traditional Maasai inhabitants and the Mara River. You will be driven by the river which is a great place to spot wildlife. This area is a photographer’s delight where, with any luck, you will be able to take amazing pictures of the hippo and crocodile in the water. The small size of the lake area funnels all varieties of animals into a tight space. The park allows for off-road driving which means that guests can venture into plains where hundreds and thousands of animals live. Later in the day, you will return to camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2: Masai Mara National Reserve Game Drives

On this day 2 of 5 Days Kenya Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha after breakfast, with a picnic lunchbox in hand, you will take off for a full day of game viewing in Masai Mara. Today’s safari offers you a unique variety of animals. This hilly region is both humid and fertile and is crossed by the Mara and Talek Rivers full of crocodiles and hippos. The abundance of water and excellent availability of food are the reasons Masai Mara has the greatest population of wild animals in the whole of Africa. There is a particularly dramatic spectacle between July to October, wherein you can experience the annual migration of huge herds of gnus and zebras. This migration also invites predators such as hyenas, jackals, leopards, and lions to closely follow these herds. Later in the evening, you will return to camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Lake Naivasha

Today you will embark on an early morning game drive in the Mara in search of the Big Five. The large predators include lions, leopards, and cheetahs. The smaller predators are the hyenas and jackals. The large herbivores are elephants, rhinos, zebras, hippos, buffalos, and giraffes. You will return to the camp for breakfast, check out, and drive to Lake Naivasha, arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon optional boat ride. Alternatively, a nature walk at Crescent Island is an excellent way to see wild animals while on foot. The island is a private game sanctuary, which is home to zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, Vervet monkeys, hares, genet cats, waterbucks, and giraffes. Other options include a visit to Hell’s Gate National Park for a walking, biking, or hiking safari. You will stay at the Lake Naivasha Resort where you will have dinner and turn in for the night.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park

This day 4 6-days-best-of-kenya-samburu-naivasha-masai-mara-safariof 5 Days Kenya Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha will rise early to enjoy a delicious breakfast and then travel, by road, to Amboseli National Park famous for its breath-taking views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The park also shelters more than 420 species of birds, enormous elephant populations, and other big game; attracted to the area by underground springs fed from the melting snows of Mount Kilimanjaro. You will arrive at Kimana Tented Camp in time for lunch and then head out for a planned afternoon game drive. Later in the evening, you will return to camp for dinner and then turn in for the night.

Day 5: Amboseli – Nairobi

You will rise early in the morning to take in the breathtaking view of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit and then set out for a morning game drive. Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from wildebeests to giraffes or baboons. You will return to camp for a full breakfast, check out, and drive back to Nairobi. You will be arriving in the afternoon. Here you will be driven to the airport for your flight back home.
